Volunteers Needed

Filed under: General Info — Buddy @ 6:36 pm

Our Lake Association (ALIC) is an all volunteer organization.

Debbie Hite, our former Executive Director and, before that, President and very active board member is leaving our lake community;  she and her family are relocating.  The loss of Debbie to our organization has left us with a great void, as Debbie contributed a great deal.

One of the three primary goals this year for ALIC is to increase membership participation and volunteerism.

There are many areas where ALIC needs your support.   Here is just a short list:

  • help is needed in both monitoring and maintaining the dam on Dead River
  • help Bill in collecting and organizing water quality data
  • keep an eye out for invasive plants by volunteering for our “Eyes on the Water” program
  • help out with our Annual Meeting
  • write an article for our 2017 Summer Newsletter
  • if you have experience with Publisher, step up to manage our 2017 Summer Newsletter
  • if you have experience with Excel, consider managing our membership database
  • attend important conferences (e.g., VLMP and Maine Lakes Society) and report back
  • liaison with organizations such as 30MRWA, VLMP, and Maine Lakes
  • serve on the Board of Directors (we are a working board)
  • monitor and respond to incoming e-mail
  • help out with mailings, stuffing and stamping …
  • deliver extra copies of newsletters to the towns and businesses
  • head up a LakeSmart initiative on our lake
  • talk to your neighbors about supporting ALIC and its mission to preserve and protect our lake

We really do need your participation and help.  Without it, frankly, I’m not optimistic that ALIC will be able to sustain itself.   Please contact us at alic@androscogginlake.org.   You can also call me, Buddy, board member, at 207-320-5720.
